Skating at Colonel Samuel Smith Park

A weekend of getting together with friends, Christmas shopping  and cleaning / purging around the house, it's nice to just go for an afternoon skate.  Today we went to Colonel Samuel Smith Park, an outdoor skating trail at Long Branch area (south of Kipling and Lakeshore).  It opened on Dec 11, 2010 and thought it would be nice to check it out.  It definitely lived up to my expectation, one of the building was converted, as a change area; nice winding trail; the trail is maintained with a zamboni coming out regularly to smooth out the surface, surrounded with some trees and benches to relax.

Getting ready to skate.
These are the only pics I got from skating today, since it's part of the Recreation Centre, there's a policy of taking pictures.

This is on my list of things to do. It looks like an amazing facility.
