Pirate and the Witch

Aidan and I went out trick or treating, as the Pirate and the Witch. He had a ball walking up and down the neighbours' walkway. He started off timidly but at the end of the night he was befriending neighbours. He actually took a liking to couple down the street, specifically Peter and Toby. I think Aidan liked the ski hat that Peter was wearing. He came home with lots of goodies that Mom and Dad will probably end up eating and two balloons (black and pumpkin colour).

There were a lot of hugging and kissing going on with Chicken Little (his pal Anthony who happens to be two days younger than Aidan).

Aidan and the Great Pumpkin

Last year, Wallace's pumpkin carver helper was Michelle, who was visiting from New Jersey. This year Aidan became the Pumpkin Carver Helper. He scooped and played with the pumpkin seeds while Wallace carved the great pumpkins.

We had two of them with the image of tree and lantern face.

It was a Windy Day!

Swimming was cancelled today, apparently someone threw up in the pool and closed it for a couple of hours.

Well, what better way to spend the day than go to the park and get blown away. Aidan didn't seem to mind it. He was happy as a lark. We actually had to tear him away from the playground and his walking stick (he found along his walk). For more photos, follow this link Easy Like Sunday Morning (by Wallace Wong)

First Halloween Party

Aidan went to his first Halloween Party and had a grand time. He was apprehensive at first...seeing all these strangers dress up, but became comfortable enough that he spent the night walking back and forth between the living room and kitchen.

He met a new friend Andrew and he really took great care of Aidan while we were at the party.

Follow the link on the title of this entry for more pics and entry on the Halloween Party.

A Better Day!

It's a better day today because.....
TGIF!
I'm looking forward to the Extraordinary Meeting tonight; getting together with friends; talk about art; do some art and eat Sushi.
Something to Celebrate! It's my friend/colleague's birthday today too. In all the years that I've known him, I didn't know when his birthday was until yesterday. He is secretive that way. I found out yesterday from Bob C.

It Really Hit Home!

Today wasn't a good day. It started off with a managers' meeting with my new Director. I understand that there's a new direction from upper management, but I'm not sure I like his management style. I will definitely keep my head up high, long enough to keep a float and go with the flow.

Then I found out that my coworker's son, died this week. His son was born with a congenital heart disease and has been in and out of the hospital. It really hit home when I went over to talk to my coworker who sent me the news. I just started bawling my eyes out. This motherhood really did some wacky rewiring of my emotions. I dont' even want to imagine the pain they are going through.

When I came home tonight after a company's event, I broke the # one rule when Aidan is sleeping. I slipped into his room and hugged him. Surprisingly, I didn't wake him up I always wake him up when I check in on him....and that's why I''ve been forbidden to check-…

The Joy of Annual Reviews

I've been sitting in on the annual reviews for my team, the last week. We went through approx. 25 people. Now it's all coming back to me....the feeling of life and energy being sucked away from me. Actually, it's not that bad. I actually like talking to my team members about their personal goals; career plans; objectives and performance highlights. It does get draining at the end of the day. I think I averaged 2.5 cups of LDD per day.

I survived and lived to tell about it....LOL!

Hmmmmmm!!

I love hearing jokes but I always manage to screw up the punchlines. So this one-liners are great!

Hmmmmmm!! If you take an Oriental person and spin him around several times, does he become disoriented? If a pig loses its voice, is it disgruntled? If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular? Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker? When cheese gets its picture taken, what does it say?Why is a person who plays the piano called a pianist but a person who drives a race car not called a racist? Why are a wise man and a wise guy opposites? Why do overlook and oversee mean opposite things? Why isn't the number 11 pronounced tenty one? "I am" is reportedly the shortest sentence in the English language. Could it be that "I do" is the longest sentence? If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn't it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked, a…

WWE

I was driving home from the Creative Festival Show and decided to call Wallace before hitting the highway. I heard lots of little voices and figured, Aidan and Wallace was over at his grandparent's place while his cousin Tyler was visiting. I heard some boisterous laughter and I was told that Aidan was on top of Tyler pretty much like a professional wrestler. It seems that the moves that Aidan was practising on Minx, paid off. I definitely missed a good match (-: LOL! I heard Aidan and Tyler had fun.

Aidan continues to plant kisses on Tyler's cheeks and he apparently started blowing kisses all afternoon. It's funny how they've been ignoring each other and then out of the blue they just start interacting with each other.

Day at the Creative Festival Show

I had a good day, but very tiring. I was able to spend a day with friends at the Creative Festival Show. I helped at Carmi's booth for a few hours in the early part of the day. She is selling this new wonderful line of paper from Dove of The East. The 12"x 12" scrapbook pages were cardstock quality and nice design; embellishments were so elegant and beautiful.

At the Creative Festival, Carmi did this awesome jean design for Christine Bentley to be auctioned off for Sick Children Foundation. Various Canadian celebrities donated their jeans to have an artist design the fabric and auction it off for a great cause.

Then off I went shopping....my strategy for the day was to buy supplies for the Holly Jolly Show that I'll be doing on November 25th. I had a shopping list and managed to find most of the supplies I needed and then some. Today's outing inspired me to start working on my inventory for the Holly Jolly, once again (I took a week off from beading; cardmaking...…

Helping out at Carmi's Booth at the Creative Festival

Creative Festival is here…from Oct 19-22. I’ll be at Carmi’s Booth the Dove of The East products from Carmi’s store. Come visit at Booth 176! It will be a great show. See Carmi’s website for detailed products that she’ll be selling at the show.I’m really excited for her.

Going To the Church.....

Aidan went to his first Wedding Ceremony this afternoon. I couldn't help but go all out on his clothes, so I splurged. Actually it didn't cost me that much. A pair of pants; matching vest; clip-on tie; a white shirt; dress shoes and socks. Definitely a GQ material. Isn't he adorable?

We spent the rest of the day at my brother-in-laws place; had a great dinner and dessert; the kids had a great time.

All though, Aidan is getting a reputation for bullying his cousin Tyler. But in the end, they kissed and made up. Okay....Aidan did all the kissing to make amends.

Short and Sweet!

Little A. had another haircut today. I brought him to Little Tots at the Beaches. They had bubbles to distract the kids. Well, I have a lot to learn about blowing bubbles because I really suck at it. LOL! He was a little apprehensive when I put him on the chair but settled down after a "few" bubbles. Bribing him with Arrowroot and Farley's biscuit also helped.

We're going to a wedding on Saturday, so I bought him a nice white shirt; a pair of dress pants with a matching vest and tie; dress shoes and socks. I can't wait to see him in his new clothes. My little man.

Creekbank Visit

Today was the first time I've been back to see my team, after returning to work. I've been hanging out at Commerce Valley Drive West (Hwy 7 and Leslie). It felt like home and reuniting with family...but I can do without the commute.

Of all the days, I have to go to Creekbank (Eglinton and Dixie Road), it had to rain cats and dogs. You know how all drivers lose their senses when it rains or snow. Being stuck in the Gardiner was not fun. The only saving grace was listening to CHUMFM. I'm still trying to get on the CHUMFM contest BEAT THE BANK, so I can win the QTR of a Million Dollars. SIGH!!!!!

Daycares defrauded

Daycares a target of fraud. Unbelievable. This is when I'm really glad that I don't have to deal with daycares yet. A friend of mine had two of her girls at a daycare and she became one of the board members for the daycare. After a couple of years in the board of directors she finally threw in the towel because of the politics she had to deal with. She was reading an article in the Star about a bookkeeper defrauding daycares. The bookkeeper's name was familiar and found out that this bookkeeper was the same one hired by the daycare that her girls were in.

My Challenge for the Rest of the Year

I've been snoozing and slacking off with my blog. I can't help it...who wouldn't snooze with this little guy in your arm.

Okay aside from losing the pounds after Thanksgiving, my next challenge is to keep up with my blog for the rest of the year. Oh brother, as if I’m not busy enough.I know, I'll have some “wine” with that cheese.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We had a quiet weekend to ourselves and enjoyed the rare warm weather in October (can we actually call it Indian Summer). We went for dimsum with Wallace's family; visit at Uncle Warner's place; clothes hunting for Aidan's dress shirt and pants for a wedding next weekend; garden cleanup and a bike ride and fun at Withrow Park with Aidan and Wallace.

Missed going to my aunts and brother for Thanksgiving Dinner this year because two of aunts weren't feeling well (cold and flu season). But looking forward to rescheduling with them. They will be happy to see the little guy...walking around.

Design Team for The Ink Spot

There was a contest with The Ink Spot (Oakville store) http://inkspotshop.ca/ to be part of the Design Team. I submitted quite a few entries...I think I gave Cathy my whole portfolio. As it turned out, it paid off. I'm now part of the Design Team for the Ink Spot. I'm really excited.

Since I Went Back To Work, Aidan

Has grown attached to his grandparents and bonded with them.
Gives out those kisses, like it's going out of style.Developed a sense of humour....when I ask for a kiss, he say aaah! He is like saying that "oh mom....not again" or "I will hold out on giving you a kiss and give everyone else a kiss"Thinks the "farty noise" is funny...so he starts laughing.Wrestles with Minx and it's still an on going event at the Wong household.Walks in circles or around the table.Loves to pull the door close instead of pushing it shut.Kisses his bears before going to sleep.Loves his books especially Chicka Chicka Boom Boom; The Big Red Bus Ride and the Sign Language Cards.
Loves to hear mom and dad read his books to him.Loves to watch Blues Clues.Loves "Five Little Monkeys" rhyme with the bean bags.Loves his bath time and bath toy friends.Shrills with excitement when he sees the slides, whether in the pool or in the park. He comes back for more....more and…

Work is Good

Well I've been back to work for about two and a half weeks and starting to feel useful again. LOL! Actually, I'm enjoying the down time I had at work....I must admit I was bored at first because I was used to doing something all the time. Coming back to work where there's no work assigned to you; no phone; no desk made me feel displaced.

It's week Three, Work is starting to look up (relatively speaking). I've gone beyond cleaning up my mailbox and surfing the net to actually doing some work (ie. attending meetings; working on projects; finding a desk and getting a phone). I actually don't mind being at work.

I found out that we're going to have a new director as a result of a reorganization. I wasn't surprise but disappointed that I won't have Bob C. as my director. Oh well.....just another reorg.
