OWOH 2011 - Final one!

Updated: (Feb 17@5:52pm) -LAST CHANCE.PLEASE NOTE, I'M EXTENDING THE OPPORTUNITY TO ENTER INTO THE DRAW PRIZES FOR OWOH TO 9:00PM (EST)

Welcome to my blog entry for the OWOH - One World One Heart Event where bloggers get to meet new friends, renew friendship and get inspired.  I live in Ontario, Canada.  I'm a mixed media artist and love to create with different media.  I love making cards, creating beaded jewelry; journaling and taking photographs. I'm a night owl and do most of my work at night when my little guy is asleep.   I also teach at a local rubberstamp and scrapbook store.  My hubby is very patient with my abundance of art supplies, packed in the basement.   My little guy is also very creative and I try to post his creation on my blog.  I have a black cat - Minx who adopted us six years ago.

To all my last years blogger friends and new friends, thanks for joining One World One Heart.  Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy this magical experience.

The Brenda Photo Challenge (1-29-11): THEME: FROZEN

Now that the holidays are over and it's a New Year (albeit first month is almost over).  It's nice to have The Brenda Photo Challenge back.  I've been itching to do a photo challenge.   The theme is FROZEN which is not hard for me, being in Canada.   Welcome to my frozen world!

Frozen in time

Star Wars Cookie Cutter

Wallace found a set of 4 Star Wars Cookie cutter (ships) at William and Sonoma which included a cookie recipe.    Father and son tried it out and had an amazing time creating these cookies.

Target is coming!

As a Canadian, I should be grieving or sad that another American company is coming to Canada.  But damn...we're talking about Target.  Hurray!

It's one of the stores I make a beeline for when I'm in the States and another fave...Ann Taylor.

Target is Coming up North

Eureka!

I'm feeling really dumb. I've been trying to match hoods with my winter coats, they are all about the same material and colour. I thought I only had the two hoods to match but I realized today, that I actually had a total of three: one for my short ski jacket; one for long coat and the last one for a winter vest. Hmm. I've been wondering why a certain hood didn't fit with my long Gap winter coat, I usually wear to work. Now I know why. To think that I was trying to force this hood on my long coat. Doh! I found the third hood - it was buried in my closet and pulled it out today...Eureka! I finally have a hood on my coat.

Bamboo tablet

I dug out my Bamboo tablet from the drawer and I am finally going to use it for my Digital Journal Magic class with Marie Otero.    It was a gift from Wallace a few years ago and I'm pretty bad at using the gifts people give me.  Not because I don't like it.  It's a combination of not using my time effectively and pure laziness.   When I come home, I just want to veg in front of the TV and watch my favourite shows.  Plus it doesn't help I have all these interests.

So I signed up for a couple of on-line classes to get creative.   Digital Journal Magic started yesterday.

Think Happy Thoughts!

When I picked up Aidan at my in-laws after work, I was presented with a map of the house.   I had to follow the map and at the end I will find a "treasure".   Hmm. this map reminds me of Family Circus when Billy walks around and around.

I found this drawing, where X marks the spot.

This is for you!

Murphy was in Town

Yesterday was my first day back in the office and all I can do is laugh because it started out with getting locked out my laptop.  Luckily one of the guys came to the rescue and provided me with a bootable CD so I can reset my password on my laptop. I just realized why I got locked out, the keyboard was sticking on a couple of my keyboards and one of the keys broke off.

When I thought I was making progress, I realized that my network connection wasn't working.  Again one of my guys came to the rescue and found one of the network guys to fix it.  It turned out the connection was disabled.  I guess that's what happens when you're not using it for a few weeks.

I had skating lessons last night.  I didn't realize I had to a get a helmet.  So off I went to the nearest Canadian tire. (not sooo bad).  Made it to my skating lesson and it went well.

On my way home, I stopped off at an Esso station to fill up the car.   CIBC fraudulent was doing a really great job at monitoring..…

Memories of Japan

We went for Wallace's b-day dinner at Memories of Japan.   We haven't been there in longtime, it was Wallace's choice and he wanted to eat at the Teppanyaki table so that Aidan can see the chef in action.

There was one point in time where the chef was tossing bits of shrimps to everyone in the table, the only one who caught it was Wallace.

Great dinner!  Afterwards we swung by Wallace's parents place where both siblings were over to visit.

Show me the Snow

I didn't realize that we were going to get dumped with snow, but it was nice waking up to falling snow yesterday.  It looked so serene.

It was a busy day with swimming, ice skating lessons for the little one.  Somehow we managed to fit in a play day with Angela and tobogganing at a nearby park.  I think everyone in the neighbourhood were there yesterday.  We bumped into Angela and two of his schoolmates.

Back to the Grind

It's always hard to come back to work after a short or long vacation, maybe that's why I found myself working from home today.  Had nice break, including a nice outing at the Science Centre yesterday.  But it didn't help that I ended up with a big headache and sleeping it off.  Only to find myself Wide eye at midnight.

Missed tacking in Aidan; missed the hockey game between Russia and Canada; missed People's Choice Award...so on.

Bagged and Stowed Away

It's sad to see the Christmas Tree bagged and ornaments stowed away in the box, but the tree has dried up and needles were basically falling off.   But the Christmas lights outside are still up.  I like them up for awhile, it makes the house festive.

Movie Night on New Years Day!

After an exhausting day of more eating and shopping, we ended up watching Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows - Part 1 at the movie theatre and as if it wasn't a long enough day.  My niece and I ended up watching Salt (Angelina Jolie) on ROD.  Both movies are two thumbs up!

But I wish I waited to watch HP and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 when Part 2 comes out.  Now it's going to bother me how they filmed the rest of the movie.  Oh how I've forgotten the rest of the story line.  Time to re-read the HP Series.

Happy New Year!

May this year bring you Joy, Peace and Happiness.
May this year bring you good health.
May this year bring you creativity.

Wishing you all a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year!
Bonne Annee!
